The professional, who has chosen to remain anonymous, reported encountering a sophisticated phishing attempt designed to steal login credentials. Rather than disengaging, he engineered a responsive replica of the fraudulent page. This bespoke page was designed to capture and relay the scammer’s own administrative login attempts directly back to him.
The counter-operation quickly yielded results. Upon accessing the trap, the individual behind the initial phishing scheme, reportedly based in Delhi, had his own credentials compromised. This reversal prompted a series of frantic communications from the scammer, who pleaded for the deletion of the exposed data.
